Since its inception, the Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholarship has empowered talented individuals to continue on the path towards becoming a licensed architect. The scholars' dedication, passion, and talent have not only enriched the design profession but have also honored Jason's memory in a profound and meaningful way. This award supports emerging professionals by covering the costs of the Architectural Registration Examination (ARE) and study materials.

This year, we commemorate the 20th anniversary of the creation of the scholarship. To mark this significant milestone, we aim to raise $20,000 in support of the scholarship fund.

This ambitious goal symbolizes 20 years of Jason's enduring legacy and the countless lives he continues to enrich through this scholarship. The American Institute of Architects has committed to match our funds up to $10,000 – with your help, we can raise $10,000 from our community of alumni and supporters to meet our target.

On the heels of an awe-inspiring AIA Women's Leadership Summit, we are saddened to lose such an advocate for women in the profession.

The American architect was the founder of the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation and an advocate for female design practitioners.

Just got a grant application out the door thanks to a lot of cross-team collaboration and advice from volunteers and allied professionals. The AF team and the friends we have in our 'fundraising universe' rock! Thank you all for your help supporting our mission and The Octagon Museum.

Help us build a more inclusive world with the 3rd annual Fireclay Tile Architecture Scholarship for Black Women 🎓🌎🎉

Over the past 2 years, with the Architects Foundation and the support of our incredible community, we’ve raised over $120k which helped 5 aspiring Black women architects pursue their passion (thank you!). This year, we’re asking you to join us in raising $75,000 to support the education of 3 more future architects 🎓🎓🎓

These scholarships benefit more than the recipients—they benefit the architecture field as a whole, helping to bring more diverse and vibrant voices that the profession is currently lacking (only 0.4% of licensed architects in the US today are Black women).

A 2021 report by and found that women of color are disproportionately impacted by financial limitations along the path to licensure. Let’s work together to help narrow the racial disparities in the profession 🤝

We’re kicking off this year’s fundraiser by donating $25,000 🎉 Are you in? Join us by donating (every bit helps!) and spreading the word— https://bit.ly/fireclay-scholarship
