TODAY WE GAVE OUT FOOD TO SICKLE CELL WARRIORS AND THEIR FAMILY IN IBADAN NIGERIA ...TO HELP THEM DURING THIS COVID-19 LOCKDOWN TIME.

RIGHT NOW IN AFRICA HUNGER AND STARVATION IS KILLING MORE PEOPLE THAT THE ACTUAL CORONA VIRUS!

ALREADY MOST SICKLE CELL WARRIORS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN NIGERIA LIVE WAY BELOW POVERTY. I MEAN THERE IS POVERTY AND THEN THERE IS THEM.

WE WERE GETTING SOS CALLS BECAUSE OF HOW BAD THINGS HAVE BECOME IN NIGERIA AND DECIDE TO DO A GO FUND ME TO RAISE JUST $5000 TO
HELP 100 SICKLE CELL WARRIORS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

TO MARK SICKLE CELL MONTH, WE AWARDED THREE STUDENTS WITH SICKLE CELL WHO ATTEND HOWARD UNIVERSITY, WITH $2000 EACH TO HELP THEM WITH THEIR EDUCATION, TUITION AND BOOKS.

Being a college student is not easy in the first place. Now being a college student with Sickle Cell is even more difficult. A lot of sickle cell warriors drop out of high school and barely make it through college. This was our way of encouraging theses students, to keep fighting and not give up on pursing their dreams, talents and callings. Sickle Cell is not a death sentence it is just another hurdle! JUMP OVER IT AND KEEP GOING!

WE JUST GOT BACK FROM NIGERIA!! Our give back / outreach event was a huge success. We had over 120 Sickle Cell Warriors Show up along with their caregivers. Government Leaders were present at the event and also top community leaders came out to support the movement. THE NEED IS HUGE IN AFRICA. And we need your help to keep doing what we are doing! Below are some pictures from the event!!

WE ARE HEADED TO NIGERIA TO GIVE BACK TO THE SICKLE CELL COMMUNITY IN THE CITY WHERE I SPENT MY EARLY YEARS!!

So glad that i have this opportunity to give back to the motherland. There are millions of people suffering from Sickle Cell and Have no hope. We hope to be able to put a smile on the faces of children with sickle cell and their care takers even for a few hrs at our end of year christmas party / educational seminar. It is going to be great.
