Today is 8/28 – A Day to Give. 💙

From our founder “ARK isn’t just an organization—it’s my life’s purpose. Growing up in foster care, I learned how critical it is for young people to have support, stability, and a community that believes in them. That’s why we built programs like Thrive360, EmpowerHER workshops, and our Annual Uniform Drive—to make sure youth have what they need to truly thrive.”

This date holds deep meaning in Black history—Emmett Till’s life cut short in 1955, Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963, Hurricane Katrina’s devastation in 2005, and President Obama’s nomination in 2008. Out of pain and progress, Give 8/28 was created to invest in Black-led nonprofits carrying the work forward.

✨ Your donation today makes this possible.
• $25 can help a student start school with confidence in a new uniform.
• $50 can provide life-skills workshops for young women building independence.
• $100+ helps keep Thrive360 running, giving youth safe housing and mentorship.

Every dollar goes directly toward breaking cycles and creating brighter futures.

📣 The countdown to Give 8/28 is on!

On August 28, nonprofits across the country will come together for the only national day of giving dedicated to supporting Black-led and Black-benefiting organizations. This movement, started by the Young, Black & Giving Back Institute, uplifts community-based nonprofits that are often under-resourced but doing powerful, life-changing work.

The date is not random—it’s rooted in Black history and resilience:
• 1955: Emmett Till’s life was tragically taken.
• 1963: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech.
• 2005: Hurricane Katrina devastated Black communities.
• 2008: Barack Obama accepted the Democratic nomination for President.

At ARK, our mission is to break generational cycles for children and families through programs like Thrive360, EmpowerHER workshops, and our Annual Uniform Drive.

Give 8/28 is a chance to fuel this mission and ensure our youth have access to safe housing, mentorship, and opportunities to thrive.

💙 We’re 2 days away—join us in honoring the past while investing in the future.
