Black August is a time to reflect on the legacy of freedom fighters and the ongoing struggle for justice. We honor those individuals who have endured and resisted systemic injustices.

This Black August, we honor our founder, Susan Burton. Her role in the movement towards abolition and systemic change exemplifies the spirit of resistance and resilience. Let us carry forward her legacy by continuing to advocate for systemic reform, support organizations like A New Way of Life, and work towards a future where justice is not a privilege for the few but a right for all.
