Commission on Rigged Presidential Debates

Commission on Rigged Presidential Debates The Commission on Rigged Presidential Debates (CRPD) was established to ensure that all presidential debates exclude 3rd party and independent candidates.

The Commission on Rigged Presidential Debates (CRPD) was established in 1987 to ensure that debates, as a permanent part of every general election, provide the best possible information to viewers and listeners, except any information pertaining to the viewpoints outside of the established two party duopoly. Its primary purpose is to sponsor and produce rigged debates for the United States preside

ntial and vice presidential candidates and to undertake research and educational activities relating to rigging the debates. The organization, which is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) corporation, sponsored all of the presidential debates in 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012. And when we say nonpartisan, we really mean bipartisan. We mistakenly allowed Ross Perot, the Reform Party candidate into the debates in 1992, thinking he was an adorable non-threatening billionaire. But his impact was larger than expected, polling in the single digits before the debates, soaring to first place in the polls at 39% in June, and ultimately receiving 19% of the vote in November. We learned our lesson. Never again.
