CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers are trained to advocate in the best interests of

CASA DC works to provide safe, nurturing, and permanent homes for abused and/or neglected children in the foster care system, while advocating for essential services including physical and mental health-care and educational assistance.

Today is CASA/GAL Volunteer's Day, where we recognize and celebrate the incredible CASA volunteers who stand beside children in foster care and the juvenile justice system.

Every child deserves safety, stability, and someone who will show up for them consistently. CASA volunteers show up everyday, advocating for our youth's best interests and helping judges make informed decisions that can shape their future.

May is National Foster Care Month, a time to recognize the resilience of youth in foster care and honor the advocates, caregivers, and community members who support them every day 💙.

In DC, more than 500 youth are currently in the foster care system, navigating a path toward safety, stability, and permanency. During this critical time, having a consistent adult advocate can make a lasting difference. CASA volunteers stand beside youth in foster care to ensure their voices are heard, their needs are prioritized, and they have someone advocating for their best interests every step of the way 🫂.
