Last weekend we celebrated Mother's Day in Bolivia ๐ŸŒธ

For many of our children and youth, it's an emotional day and a reminder that they don't have their biological mom in their lives anymore. But Mother's Day has become something beautiful at NCV: a chance for our kids to show appreciation for the caregivers who show up for them every single day.

The kids made handmade gifts and cards for them, and it meant so much to everyone. These women give so much of themselves, and moments like this remind them why.

We reached our Goal! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Over the past month, our incredible community in both the US and Canada came together and raised over $20,000 toward a new van for our kids. We are blown away by your generosity.

Our children and staff are so excited to get the new van in the coming weeks and we will now be able to get all of our children get to school, church, and other appointments without issue!

This month, we took our youngest youth from our SDE program on a special day out to Agroflori Biopark in Cochabamba! ๐Ÿฆœ๐ŸŒฟ A sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating wild animals โ€” from scarlet macaws to parrots to flamingosโ€” it was a place full of wonder and learning. There was something quietly meaningful about bringing our children to a place devoted to giving animals a second chance. We are so grateful for our youth to get to experience this beautiful place! โค๏ธ

Earlier this week our girls and boys homes came together in spirit to honor the International Candlelight Memorial in Memory of AIDS Victims. ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

This day means a lot to us. We have the privilege of walking alongside children who live with HIV every day and we are committed to making sure they grow up knowing they are loved, supported, and never defined by their diagnosis.

We light these candles to remember those we have lost, to stand with those living with HIV today, and to work toward a future where everyone gets the care and support they deserve โ€” free from stigma and full of dignity. ๐Ÿค

Van Campaign Update! ๐Ÿš๐Ÿ’›

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our van campaign โ€” we have been blown away by your generosity so far and it means so much to our kids and our team.

We also have exciting news! Thanks to a grant we already secured from one of our partner foundations, we were able to purchase our first van replacement this past week and it's already helped us so much! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Now we are focused on the second van we need to replace and we're still approximately $6,000 away from our 20k goal. If you have been thinking about giving, now is the perfect time to help us make that final push!

Every contribution gets us one step closer to making sure our youth have the reliable transportation they need. โค๏ธ

Phase 1 of Sandero De Esperanza youth program is underway! ๐Ÿ™Œ

This past month some of our younger youth got to explore Cochabamba in a whole new way. They learned how to navigate public transit, figured out how much each ride costs, and even got to walk through the local market to get familiar with the vendors and the layout of that part of the city.

The kids were so excited and having visuals and our support alongside them made such a difference in their confidence. Watching them take in each new step knowing they'll one day do this on their own was just really special. ๐ŸŒŸ

We are so grateful to be able to offer this kind of transitional support early, giving our youth as much practice as possible before they age out of our homes. Every experience like this one matters. ๐Ÿ’›
