Shout-out to Sean-Maurice of Arena Stage for welcoming us into such a beautiful space. Councilmember Christina Henderson shared insight into the District's budget process. Lamont Carey, the Director of the Mayor's Office of Community Affairs, and Shirleta Settles, Cultural Arts Manager at the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation, shared how their agencies serve as valuable partners in strengthening arts and cultural programming throughout the District.
Executive Director Alorie Clark shared updates on DC Collaborative’s strategic plan, vision for continued growth, and goals for the next school year.
Elizabeth Winkelhoff, Data and Evaluation Manager at DC Collaborative, announced the release of the District Data Initiative report on sustainability. This yearly report offers a District-wide view of the impact of arts and humanities education and charts the landscape that teachers, organizations, and students are navigating.
Ashlee McKinnon, Director of Education Development and Partnerships, led us through the purpose and effectiveness of the Collaborative's education programming.💡This school year, through our coordination of arts programs, we reached 100 schools and 207 teachers. We oversaw the completion of 374 programs, which resulted in over 16,500 student interactions.
