Established in 2017, Study Abroad Association LLC (SAA) specializes in internationalizing institutions and is committed to continually pushing the boundaries of innovation in International Education By focusing on effective solutions to increase participation in traditional study abroad, providing faculty development workshops to effectively internationalize curricula and creating innovative virtu

al solutions that remove all barriers of accessibility, Study Abroad Association has assisted hundreds of schools to build a global foundation at their institution and achieve their goals of increasing global competency among students and faculty on their campuses. SAA is currently providing services to more than 250 universities and community colleges across the United States with the family continually growing. Finishing the first month of the year inspired by unforgettable experiences from 2025—like Long Beach City College’s faculty-led program in Japan, where students stepped beyond the classroom and into deep cultural immersion.

🖌️ From hands-on cultural workshops and traditional arts experiences to classroom-based learning rooted in history and language, this program blended academic exploration with meaningful engagement in Japanese culture.

🏯 Students explored historic sites, participated in calligraphy and tea ceremony, wore traditional attire, and learned alongside local instructors—building cultural awareness, global perspective, and intercultural communication skills through lived experience.

📸 These moments capture what experiential education is all about: learning by doing, engaging with culture firsthand, and developing global competency that stays with students long after the program ends.

As we look ahead to 2026, we’re excited to continue supporting faculty-led programs that bring curriculum to life through immersive, culturally rich global experiences.

Beginning 2026 with excitement for the programs ahead!

We’re kicking off the year inspired by impactful experiences that already happened this month, like George Washington University’s program in Morocco, where students explored entrepreneurship through the lens of emerging markets and real-world innovation.

🌍 From engaging with local entrepreneurs and learning about startup development to analyzing market dynamics and policy influences, this program blended academic insight with hands-on exposure to Morocco’s evolving business ecosystem.

🚀 Students examined how culture, creativity, and adaptability shape entrepreneurship in emerging economies—connecting theory to practice through site visits, discussions with industry leaders, and collaborative learning experiences.

We’re kicking off the year inspired by unforgettable experiences from 2025 like Costa Rica with Winston-Salem State University, where Nursing students stepped far beyond the classroom and into real-world learning.

🩺🌍 From hands-on community engagement and health-focused learning experiences to immersive cultural activities, this program blended clinical perspective, global awareness, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

🌴 Students explored Costa Rica’s rich biodiversity, connected with local communities, and strengthened teamwork through adventure-based learning—whether navigating rivers, zip-lining through the rainforest, or reflecting together after meaningful site visits.
