The 2026 edition of the Caux Scholars Program in Indonesia offered another powerful reminder of what becomes possible when diverse voices come together with a shared commitment to peace, justice, and social change.
Hosted in Bandung, Indonesia, this year’s program brought together a remarkable cohort of 22 emerging leaders from more than 15 nationalities. Over three transformative weeks, participants immersed themselves in deep conversations, challenged assumptions, and explored the complexities of peacebuilding, conflict, trauma, justice, identity, and narrative change.
Under the mentorship of our Academic Director, Dr. David Anderson Ho**er, alongside faculty sujatha baliga and Ashok Gladston Xavier, the scholars engaged with the dimensions of systemic change, learning not only how to understand and analyze conflict, but how to transform it.
Through dialogue, reflection, experiential learning, and community engagement, they wrestled with difficult questions and explored what it means to lead in a fractured and rapidly changing world.

During the community immersion day, scholars visited the Budi Daya Indigenous community to learn about their worldviews, spirituality, and the contemporary challenges they face. Together, we reflected on the narratives and stereotypes that continue to shape their representation in society.
Participants shared stories from their communities, examined historical and contemporary challenges, and built relationships that transcended geography, culture, faith, and ideology. What stood out most was their willingness to listen deeply, learn across differences, and remain open to transformation.
