💜💛🌱 WARD 7, COME DREAM WITH ME THIS JUNETEENTH! 🌱💛💜

For years, I’ve spent time listening to neighbors across Ward 7 talk about what they love, what frustrates them, and what they hope our community can become.

This Juneteenth, I’m creating a space for us to dream together.
Stop by Stamper’s Ward 7 Dream Station at the Ward 7 Juneteenth Parade and Celebration.

🖍 Draw your dream Ward 7.
📚 Tell us what our schools need.
🌳 Imagine new parks and recreation spaces.
🥕 Share ideas for food access and grocery stores.
🏠 Tell us what would make your neighborhood stronger.
Or create something completely new.

There are no wrong answers.
There will be coloring sheets, dream pages, water, snacks, tea, iced coffee, community conversation, and a cool place to sit, relax, and connect with neighbors.

Bring your children.
Bring your parents.
Bring your grandparents.
Bring your ideas.
Because the future of Ward 7 should be built by the people who call Ward 7 home.

As we celebrate Juneteenth and the generations who fought for freedom before us, let’s also imagine what freedom, opportunity, and community can look like for the next generation.

Today I published one of the most personal pieces I’ve ever written.

Over the last several months, I’ve experienced professional setbacks, public scrutiny, financial hardship, personal growth, renewed faith, and a deeper understanding of what leadership truly means.

This piece is not about politics.

It’s about purpose.

It’s about learning that leadership is not only serving others—it is also learning how to care for yourself.

For years I believed I was becoming a leader.

What I learned is that I already am one.

Now I’m learning how to lead myself.

🌱 Plant.
🌿 Grow.
🌻 Lead.
