I am alarmed that my oldest child is being harassed at school. When I reach out for assistance, I am dismayed by the inadequate response. As a parent of a 10-year-old child, I am disheartened by the lack of effective support. I am exhausted and irritated with the DC government's mismanagement of resources, which appears to unfairly target single women seeking political offices. This situation is shameful.

​As a mother raising two boys in Marshall Heights and a former ANC Commissioner, I’ve seen firsthand where our systems fail and where they can succeed. We don't need more empty promises—we need a government that acts with urgency and integrity.

​Youth & Community Safety: Investing in prevention and intervention.

​Education: Ensuring our public schools are the foundation of our children's success.

The Tuesday hustle in DC is real, but so is the literacy gap. 🛑

​In my time in the classroom, I saw the incredible drive our students have. But drive alone isn't enough if the city doesn't provide the foundational support—like Literacy Labs in vocational centers and more Reading Specialists for adult learners.

​I left the classroom to take this fight to the Wilson Building. I’m running for DC Council At-Large to move . 🍎

Washington DC overall in all 8 Wards can only read at an 5th grade level. What is the District of Columbia doing to address our reading level as a whole? What did you today to improve your personal literacy skills? I read to my children or have them read to me at least 20 minutes daily.

As your next At Large Councilmember it is imperative we have safer streets and all District residents should read on at least a 9th grade level.

Stamper, if this was real, would you sacrifice your life for your students?"

​As a former SPED educator in both the DC Charter and Public systems, that was the question I asked myself every time we had a shelter-in-place or bomb threat drill. While I was tasked with finding the students who ran and hid, I knew that in a real crisis, my life belonged to them.

​Seeing teachers across the country literally lay their lives on the line is a reminder of the weight our educators carry every single day.
​For too long, DC has failed our children. Our schools are under-resourced and undervalued. This lack of investment must end now.

​I’m running for DC Councilmember At-Large because I’ve looked into those children’s faces. I know the truth they are facing, and I refuse to lie to them. I will be the voice for every parent, educator, and stakeholder who knows that when our children's lives are on the line, "good enough" isn't enough.
