The National Association of Home Builders Student Chapters program helps to enrich the educational experience of students enrolled in construction-related fields such as construction management, engineering, architecture, real estate, and the trades. Chapters are located at high schools, career technical schools, community colleges (2-year programs), and universities (4-year programs) across the country.

About this winner: Led by Daniel Schlegel, a third-year construction management major, and mentor Jill Flood, an associate professor in University of Cincinnati's construction management co-op program, UC's Student Competition team, consisting not only of construction management students but architecture and urban planning students as well, delivered an exceptional interdisciplinary presentation that earned them first place in the Production Home Build category.

📣 With the nation facing a shortage of roughly 1.2 million housing units, closing the housing deficit will necessarily entail recruiting younger workers willing to start careers in construction trades. NAHB estimates the industry will need 2.2 million new skilled construction workers over the next three years to keep up with demand and account for industry expansion, retirements and departures.
