Puerto Rico Statehood Students Association - GWU Chapter

Puerto Rico Statehood Students Association - GWU Chapter Welcome to the official page of the Puerto Rico Statehood Students Association - GWU Chapter. Raise High Colonials!!!

We are the only National organization that represents college students who believe in Puerto Rico's admission as the 51st state of the United States of America. Since 1978, we've been committed to bringing equal rights to the 3.6 million United States natural-born citizens that reside in Puerto Rico, and the 4.2 million Puerto Ricans who already chose statehood by moving to the mainland. Puerto Ri

co has been a colony of the United States for far too long, since 1898, and it is time that college students all over the nation take action towards achieving equality through statehood for Puerto Rico. Join us in the George Washington University Chapter of PRSSA along with the students of our 28 other national chapters to help achieve our cause. Because we are located in the nation's capital, we have an advantage over any other chapter since we have access to lobby among the very people who will decide Puerto Rico's future status (other than Puerto Ricans themselves), the members of the United States Congress. We hope to see you soon in our activities on campus, off campus, and on the hill!

Last week made history again, the National Freshman Liaison and member of our chapter, Kevin McClintock, proudly represented us in a special report on Puerto Rico Statehood by Shelby Holliday from Channel One News.
