Each year, the Junior League of Washington honors members whose dedication strengthens our community through voluntarism:
🏆 Sally Carruthers Spirit of Voluntarism Award – our highest honor recognizing a lifetime of extraordinary service

🏆 President’s Award for Excellence in Voluntarism – celebrating outstanding contributions this year in:

👏 Plus Above & Beyond Award honorees

✨ We are also proud to recognize this year’s Meg Graham Scholarship recipient, Daniyah “Harmony” Redman. A graduate of Benjamin Banneker Academic High School, Harmony will attend North Carolina Central University while pursuing a joint master’s pathway with Duke University. Her exceptional leadership, commitment to mentoring younger students, and more than 327 hours of community service truly set her apart—and her dedication deeply impressed our interview committee.

- This week, we heard from Olivia with the Historical Alexandria Docents Committee. JLW supports our American historic, cultural, and artistic history by volunteering at different historic Alexandria properties, working with the Mount Vernon Ladies Association (George Washington’s Mount Vernon), NOVA Parks (Carlyle House Historic Park), the Office of Historic Alexandria (Gadsby’s Tavern Museum and the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary), and the Virginia Trust for Historic Preservation (Lee-Fendall House Museum).
