The Gordie Howe International Bridge will provide an essential international crossing between Windsor, Ontario, Canada and Detroit, Michigan. This is a once-in-a-generation undertaking that will deliver significant and much-needed transportation improvements for travellers while supporting the busiest commercial border crossing between Canada and the United States.

The project earned Envision Platinum back in 2021 with sustainable infrastructure achievements across all areas of the framework. It is also the first Envision-rated civil infrastructure project that crosses an international border. The Gordie Howe International Bridge officially opened to vehicular traffic on July 27, 2026, and to pedestrians and cyclists one week later!
