Following the successful conclusion of the The World Jurist Association’s Opening Session to the in Tirana, the trustees of the World Law Foundation traveled to Berat for an institutional retreat — a moment of reflection, dialogue, and strategic vision for the road ahead.

The itinerary brought together culture and diplomacy: a guided tour of Berat, a UNESCO World Heritage city known as the "City of a Thousand Windows," was followed by an official lunch hosted jointly by the Mayor of Berat, Mr. Ervin Ceca, and the Minister of Justice of Albania, Mr. Toni Gogu. These high-level exchanges underscore the strong institutional commitment of Albanian authorities to the values of the rule of law and international legal cooperation.

As part of the Opening Session of the Albania 2027, one of the Trustees of the , Alket Hyseni, hosted a special dinner where an art auction was held to raise funds in support of our ongoing mission of promoting peace through law and strengthening the globally.

This evening would not have been possible without the extraordinary generosity of Galeria KALO, whose commitment to bridging art and justice made this fundraising effort a reality. Swipe to see some of the stunning Albanian artworks they donated — each piece a testament to their vision and dedication to a noble cause. We extend our deepest gratitude to Trustee Alket Hyseni and the entire Galeria Kalo team for making this event possible.

The hosted the colloquium "Sobre el Imperio de la Ley", held on the occasion of the official presentation of this new book written by .cremades, President of the WJA & World Law Foundation.

Introduced by Dr. Carlos Andreucci, President of the .abogacia, the session analyzed current institutional challenges across the region with the participation of , President of , Alfonso Pérez Cuellar, 1st Vice President of the Unión Iberoamericana de Colegios y Agrupaciones de Abogados (UIBA), and Rafael Veloz García, Former President of the Inter-American Bar Association, FIA, who closed the panel with an analysis titled "Venezuela: laboratory of the collapse of the Rule of Law and mirror of the future that the UIBA must prevent".

This meeting was jointly organized by the WJA, the UIBA , the Consejo General de la Abogacía Española, the Federación de Colegios de Abogados de Venezuela, and the Confederación de Profesionales Universitarios y Técnicos de Venezuela .

.cremades, President of the World Jurist Association and the World Law Foundation, has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Tirana (). This prestigious distinction recognizes his extensive career dedicated to strengthening the Rule of Law, promoting human rights, and fostering international dialogue.

The ceremony was attended by Albanian Prime Minister , who praised Cremades for his influential role as a global defender of legal institutions and democratic values.

As part of the tribute, the event featured a Laudatio by Ricardo Gil Lavedra (.gillavedra), President of the Bar Association of Buenos Aires. He highlighted Cremades’ unwavering commitment to human dignity, the defense of political prisoners, and his role in mentoring future generations of legal professionals.

During his acceptance, Cremades stressed the importance of modern democracies overcoming current fatigue to safeguard the very systems that ensure international freedom and prosperity.
