Day 2 of Alumni Leadership Weekend was all about insight, engagement, and preparing for the future of Howard.

Today, alumni leaders from across the country received important updates from the Department of Alumni Relations and the Office of Alumni Giving, highlighting the impact alumni continue to make on behalf of our beloved Howard University. We also heard from Interim President Dr. Wayne A. I. Frederick, who shared reflections on the University’s progress, opportunities ahead, and the critical role alumni play in advancing Howard’s mission.

Alumni leaders also participated in breakout sessions focused on fundraising, communications, and membership engagement—equipping clubs and leaders with tools and strategies to strengthen their local impact and better serve alumni.

We also proudly supported several HUAA leaders who represented the Association as panelists during Bison in Vegas: HBCU Alumni Weekend, sharing their expertise and perspectives with attendees from across the HBCU community.

Tonight, the energy shifts as we gather for Mecca After Dark, a speakeasy experience with a Howard vibe.

From the stages of Broadway and Hollywood to concert halls, recording studios, galleries, and classrooms around the world, Howard University artists have shaped culture, inspired generations, and left an indelible mark on the world.

As we celebrate the achievements of our 2026 History Makers honorees through the Bison Who Brunch Series, we are also investing in those who will follow in their footsteps.

Your gift will provide scholarship support for a deserving student in the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts, helping them develop their talents, pursue their passions, and continue Howard University’s rich tradition of artistic excellence.

Every contribution helps nurture creativity, artistic expression, and the next generation of performers, musicians, visual artists, designers, educators, storytellers, and cultural leaders. The students we support today will shape the future of the arts and carry Howard’s legacy of Truth and Service to communities around the world.

Da’Riah Terrell represents the very essence of Howard University’s commitment to Truth and Service.

A 2026 Summa Cum Laude graduate with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Legal Communications, Da’Riah has consistently turned empathy into action, creating impact both locally and globally.

From founding a school supply initiative supporting students in Kenya to volunteering with Bread for the City and serving in multiple Howard Alternative Spring Break programs focused on restorative justice, community development, and youth empowerment, Da’Riah has built a legacy centered on uplifting others.

Her commitment to service extends beyond programs and initiatives. Through studying abroad in Kenya and Ghana, she deepened her dedication to global engagement and cultural understanding, while her advocacy for individuals living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease reflects a deeply personal commitment to awareness, caregiving, and community support.

What makes Da’Riah’s leadership especially powerful is the intentionality behind it. She leads with compassion, serves with humility, and continuously creates spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Purpose-driven and globally minded, Da’Riah Terrell continues to embody the next generation of Howard University leadership.

Please join us in celebrating Da’Riah Terrell as one of this year’s Future Leader Award honorees at the Bison en Blanc Alumni Soirée during Alumni Leadership Weekend in Las Vegas.

Jasean Robertson is already building a legacy rooted in leadership, mentorship, and creating access for others.

A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Howard University’s Class of 2026 with a degree in Health Sciences, Jasean has emerged as one of the university’s rising young leaders, securing multiple full-time career offers, a full-ride MBA opportunity, and a future with GE Healthcare.

But beyond the accolades, Jasean’s story is deeply grounded in service.

Inspired by navigating parts of his own journey without mentorship, he launched an initiative dedicated to helping other students access the guidance, support, and opportunities he once had to seek out for himself. That same passion for community and advancement has shaped his leadership across Howard University.

Through his work with Corporate Relations and the Center of Digital Business, Jasean played a key role in strengthening corporate partnerships and student engagement opportunities, helping support collaborations with companies including Procter & Gamble, Google, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Blavity’s AfroTech. Whether serving as a campus ambassador, helping facilitate activations, or representing the student experience in professional spaces, he consistently helped bridge culture, opportunity, and innovation.

Driven, intentional, and committed to lifting others as he rises, Jasean Robertson represents the next generation of transformative leadership.

Please join us in celebrating Jasean Robertson as one of this year’s Future Leader Award honorees at the Bison en Blanc Alumni Soirée during Alumni Leadership Weekend in Las Vegas.

Jaylah Dorman is building community across an entire HBCU ecosystem.

A proud Howard University graduate, Jaylah Dorman (BS ’25) has distinguished herself as a visionary student leader committed to advocacy, access, and collective progress. While at Howard, she became known for championing improvements in dining services, accessibility, and student experience, consistently using her voice to create meaningful change for her peers.

But her impact didn’t stop on campus.

As the founder of HBCU Able, Jaylah transformed her passion for advocacy into a growing nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering HBCU students through mentorship, professional development, and resource sharing. Through cross-campus collaboration, leadership initiatives, and advocacy training, she has helped strengthen connections across the broader HBCU community while creating opportunities for future generations of student leaders.

What makes Jaylah’s leadership especially powerful is her understanding that true impact comes from building systems that outlast you.

Bold, strategic, and deeply community-centered, Jaylah Dorman continues to represent the future of HBCU leadership with vision and purpose.

Please join us in celebrating Jaylah Dorman as one of this year’s Future Leader Award honorees at the Bison en Blanc Alumni Soirée during Alumni Leadership Weekend in Las Vegas.
