🚨BREAKING: SCOTUS preserves access to Mifepristone, a safe and effective abortion medication, by extending the stay as litigation continues to play out.

This means that Mifepristone remains available by Telehealth and mail. While we're taking a brief sigh of relief, we know that the fight for abortion access and Telehealth care is far from over.

This year's theme 'Rooted in Justice & Joy,' marks the 10th annual BHMW and honor the power of our collective movement, nurturing thriving families and shaping a liberated future rooted in justice, healing, and joy.✨

Why is BMHW important?✊🏽
Black Maternal Health Week is an opportunity for the Reproductive Justice movement to come together in solidarity by centering Black birthing people and birth workers who have historically had their needs neglected by the medical system.

Not only are we fighting to close the maternal healthcare gap, but this week is also an opportunity to celebrate and find joy in community organizing efforts within our movement.

Today, SCOTUS ruled 8-1 that banning ‘conversion therapy’ would be an infringement on the First Amendment, and is allowing the harm that comes from this pseudoscience to continue. Justice Jackson was the only dissenting opinion.

March is and Our Folks cohort member .borromeo uplifts why it is critical that we uplift stories and people who have been part of the struggle and made revolutionary moves.

Assata Shakur joined the Ancestors on September 25th, 2025 in Cuba where she lived as a political refugee. Who she was and what she stood for lays deep in my heart. I wanted to focus on her radical decision to bring a child into an anti-Black colonial world. Assata chose to live. She chose to take back her autonomy and not let the cruel world kill her children in her mind before they were even born.

Her decision to bring a child, Kakuya, into this world demonstrates the pillars of to maintain autonomy and the choice of whether or not to have children.
