Last week, the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies(AMWA) submitted detailed comments to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on the agency’s proposed "Water System Restructuring Assessment Rule." The rule seeks to improve that struggle with compliance, offering incentives such as enforcement relief and protection for systems that assist non-compliant ones.

As the voice of large, publicly owned systems, AMWA is pushing for more robust protections and considerations to ensure the rule's effectiveness without undue burden on supporting systems.
