As we posted last week, the work at the school in Kampong Speu Province, Cambodia (approximately 500 children) continues to move rapidly forward.
A small medical /surgical clinic is being constructed and telemedicine will be introduced to manage patient care very soon. This will function as an extension and have the appearance of our HCVI Kids Care Clinic in Phnom Penh, using the same technology, electronic record, and platform for patient care.

The kids all received Dental Hygiene Education, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and were treated for GI parasites and head lice (about 40%) in late August.

We have already placed electricity (with multiple outlets per room) as well as lighting throughout the entire school and have installed flooring in the library.
We have also placed automated alcohol-based hand rub machines in every bathroom and schoolroom throughout the entire school.
The water main pipework feeding the 5 new bathrooms and hand washing facilities have been installed in the last 2 days. Drinkable water is being placed in multiple locations throughout the school for easy student access and each child will receive their own personal water bottle.
The BEFORE and AFTER are going to be pretty dramatic and will be viewable in a video soon. From squatter toilets with no sinks and no onsite drinkable water to bathrooms with flushable toilets, bathroom sinks, hand dryers, and alcohol-based hand rub machines within a period of weeks is quite a transition.
PLEASE CONTINUE TO FOLLOW OUR PROGRESS and CONSIDER A DONATION as there is much to come. Our goal is to create a low-cost, reproducible model for rural schools in the developing world that creates a safe, hygienic, and healthy environment conducive to the children's well-being and learning!
