The World Bank has approved a new partnership framework for for the 2026–2030 period and endorsed four financing operations totaling $285 million, in a move that reflects a growing shift from an exclusive focus on emergency humanitarian assistance toward supporting economic recovery and institution-building.According to official media, the new funding package includes projects in health, water, irrigation, urban services, and the modernization of state institutions.

The Yemeni government described the decision as a sign of increasing confidence among international institutions in its economic and administrative reform program and in the state's ability to lead a sustainable recovery process.

وافق البنك الدولي على إطار شراكة جديد مع #اليمن للفترة 2026-2030، وأقر أربع عمليات تمويلية بقيمة إجمالية تبلغ 285 مليون دولار، في خطوة تعكس تحولاً متزايداً من التركيز على الاستجابة الإنسانية الطارئة إلى دعم التعافي الاقتصادي وبناء المؤسسات.

The U.S. Mission to has announced a fully funded 10-month fellowship program in the United States for mid-career Yemeni professionals. The program offers participants the opportunity to study at a leading U.S. university, develop leadership skills, join a global professional network, and return equipped with the knowledge and experience needed to contribute to Yemen’s development and progress.

The mission encouraged interested applicants to submit their applications before the deadline of Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Yemen time. It noted that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted by email through August 2026 and emphasized that the opportunity is available exclusively to Yemenis who are committed to returning and contributing to the advancement of Yemen.

أعلنت بعثة الولايات المتحدة لدى اليمن فتح باب التقديم لبرنامج زمالة ممول بالكامل يمتد 10 أشهر في الولايات المتحدة، ويستهدف المهنيين اليمنيين في منتصف مسيرتهم المهنية. ويتيح البرنامج للمشاركين فرصة الدراسة في إحدى الجامعات الرائدة، وتطوير المهارات القيادية، والانضمام إلى شبكة عالمية من الزملاء، قبل العودة للمساهمة في دعم جهود التنمية والتقدم في اليمن.

ودعت البعثة الراغبين في التقديم إلى استكمال طلباتهم قبل الموعد النهائي المحدد مساء الخميس 16 يوليو 2026، مؤكدة أن التواصل سيقتصر على المرشحين المدرجين في القائمة المختصرة حتى أغسطس 2026، وأن الفرصة متاحة فقط لليمنيين المستعدين للعودة والإسهام في خدمة بلدهم.

After more than four and a half years in office, U.S. Ambassador to Yemen Steven Fagin has concluded his diplomatic mission, ending a tenure marked by active engagement in and support for the Yemeni government, as well as efforts to advance peace and stability. During farewell meetings in , Yemeni officials praised his role in strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing political, economic, and humanitarian cooperation, while Fagin reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to supporting the Presidential Leadership Council, the Yemeni government, and ongoing efforts to achieve peace in Yemen.

بعد أكثر من أربع سنوات ونصف من توليه المنصب، أنهى السفير الأمريكي لدى #اليمن، ستيفن هاريس فاجن، مهمته الدبلوماسية، مختتماً فترة اتسمت بحضور نشط في الملف اليمني ودعم الحكومة اليمنية، إلى جانب الجهود الرامية إلى تعزيز السلام والاستقرار. وخلال لقاءات الوداع التي عُقدت في #الرياض، أشاد مسؤولون يمنيون بدوره في تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية وتطوير التعاون السياسي والاقتصادي والإنساني، فيما أكد فاجن مجدداً التزام واشنطن بمواصلة دعم مجلس القيادة الرئاسي والحكومة اليمنية والجهود الجارية لتحقيق السلام في اليمن.

For the fourth consecutive time since last April, has renewed its threat to close the Bab al-Mandab Strait off through the Houthis, whom it has supported for many years.

Iranian media reported on Monday that Tehran informed mediators between Washington and Tehran that it is "prepared to completely close the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al-Mandab Strait."

Iran had previously issued three consecutive threats during April to use the Bab al-Mandab Strait as a pressure tool against the United States and Israel. It also signaled the possibility of closing the strategic waterway through its regional allies and disrupting shipping and trade in the Red Sea should tensions escalate further.

للمرة الرابعة على التوالي منذ أبريل الماضي، تجدد إيران التهديد بإغلاق باب المندب قبالة #اليمن عبر الحوثيين الذين تدعمهم منذ سنوات طويلة. 

وذكرت وسائل إعلام إيرانية، الاثنين، أن #إيران أبلغت الوسطاء بين واشنطن وطهران أنها "مستعدة لإغلاق مضيق هرمز ومضيق باب المندب بالكامل". 

وسبق أن هددت إيران ثلاث مرات متتالية خلال أبريل الماضي باستخدام مضيق باب المندب كورقة ضغط في مواجهة الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل، ولوّحت بإمكانية إغلاقه عبر حلفائها في المنطقة وتعطيل الملاحة والتجارة في البحر الأحمر إذا تصاعدت المواجهة آنذاك.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said it had recorded the displacement of 1,065 households, comprising 6,390 individuals, across from the beginning of 2026 through 23 May. The figure includes 15 households displaced during the past week, most of whom were concentrated in the governorates of Marib, Shabwah, and Al Hodeidah, according to data from the organization’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM).

قالت منظمة الهجرة الدولية إنها رصدت نزوح 1,065 أسرة تضم 6,390 فرداً في #اليمن منذ مطلع عام 2026 وحتى 23 مايو الماضي، بينها 15 أسرة نزحت خلال الأسبوع الماضي، تركزت معظمها في محافظات مأرب وشبوة والحديدة، وفق بيانات مصفوفة تتبع النزوح التابعة للمنظمة.

The European Union Naval Force Aspides (EUNAVFOR ASPIDES) announced that the Italian frigate Luigi Rizzo provided support to a merchant vessel during its transit through the Red Sea, as part of the mission's efforts to protect maritime navigation and ensure freedom of navigation along critical sea routes.

The mission stated that, since its launch in February 2024, it has supported more than 1,960 merchant vessels and provided protection to over 650 ships operating in the Red Sea and the Gulf of .



أعلنت مهمة "أسبيدس" البحرية التابعة للاتحاد الأوروبي (EUNAVFOR ASPIDES) أن الفرقاطة الإيطالية "لويجي ريزو" قدّمت دعماً لسفينة تجارية أثناء عبورها البحر الأحمر، في إطار جهود المهمة الرامية إلى حماية الملاحة البحرية وضمان حرية الملاحة في الممرات البحرية الحيوية.

وأوضحت المهمة أنها دعمت، منذ إطلاقها في فبراير/شباط 2024، أكثر من 1960 سفينة تجارية، ووفّرت الحماية لأكثر من 650 سفينة في البحر الأحمر وخليج #عدن.

أعاد رحيل الرئيس اليمني السابق عبدربه منصور هادي فتح النقاش حول المرحلة الانتقالية التي أعقبت أحداث 2011، وما رافقها من تحولات سياسية انتهت بالحرب وانهيار مؤسسات الدولة عقب انقلاب الحوثيين.

Within just three weeks, waters off Yemen’s coasts witnessed five successive maritime incidents, including armed boats approaching commercial tankers, warning shots being fired, and the hijacking of an oil tanker off the coast of Shabwa. As warnings issued by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations “UKMTO” continue to escalate, regional and international concerns are growing over the possible return of piracy and armed robbery activities to one of the world’s most vital maritime corridors.
