Co-Artistic Directors: Theodore Thorpe, III & Scott Tucker Founded as a collaborative effort by DC luminaries, Scott Tucker and Nolan Williams, Jr, the Washington Douglass Chorale was formed through a shared vision to create a mixed chorus emphasizing extreme diversity and embracing the full spectrum of choral works. The chorus, an 80-voice ensemble, is made up of volunteer and professional singers that authentically reflect the racial diversity and ethnicity of the Washington, DC region, and will collaborate with major symphonies and participate in premiere events both in Washington, DC and beyond.

Do You Hear What I Hear? A Holiday Celebration 🎄🎶

This December, join the Washington Douglass Chorale for Do You Hear What I Hear?, a holiday concert about how many different voices hear and tell the Christmas story.

Candlelit stillness gives way to ringing brass and percussion, and hushed reverence opens into hand-clapping joy. The evening moves between the glowing sacred music of the European tradition and the fervor of the American spiritual, so the familiar story of the season sounds new again.

Come celebrate the holidays with a chorus that sounds like the city it sings for.
