Meet Bella! 💙

Volunteers like Bella help bring the FDR Memorial to life by welcoming visitors, answering questions, and sharing the stories behind this special place.

Bella is part of the National Mall’s Volunteers-in-Parks program, co-managed by the National Park Service and the Trust for the National Mall, with stipend support provided by the FDR Memorial Foundation.

We’re proud to support and collaborate on this program. Stay tuned for more volunteer spotlights!

Earlier this year, Russell Bernabo worked with the FDR Memorial Foundation to clean the Presidential Seal at the FDR Memorial.

Now, we're looking ahead to the next phase of conservation: cleaning and caring for three works by sculptor George Segal: Appalachian Couple, The Breadline, and Fireside Chat.

The Foundation is working to support ongoing professional care of the artwork and land throughout the Memorial.

We are excited to share that Dr. Brian Coyne has joined the Board of Directors of the FDR Memorial Foundation.

Dr. Coyne has had a distinguished career in the public and private sector including as chief of staff of the Social Security Administration and leading federal affairs for healthcare companies in Washington, DC. Dr. Coyne holds a Doctorate in Law and Policy from Northeastern University, a Master in Public Administration degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University.

He’s passionate about FDR and his legacy. “I grow more and more convinced of FDR’s wisdom in creating Social Security. For so many, it is the difference between poverty and a comfortable retirement. It’s all because of FDR’s long-term vision. I’m honored to help perpetuate his legacy through the Foundation and the FDR Memorial” Dr. Coyne said.
