This week, Southeast Children’s Fund is proud to recognize Jacque Patterson—parent, veteran, education leader, longtime Ward 8 resident, and dedicated advocate for children and families across Washington, DC.

For more than two decades, Jacque has worked to advance educational equity and create stronger opportunities for DC students and families. From public service and community advocacy to leadership roles at Martha’s Table, Rocketship Public Schools, and KIPP DC Public Schools, his work reflects a deep commitment to strengthening the communities he calls home.

🎤 We were especially honored to recently welcome Jacque as the keynote speaker at our 2026 SCF Scholar Celebration, where he joined us in recognizing the achievements of early childhood educators pursuing their educational and professional goals.

Jacque’s journey reminds us that building a stronger ecosystem means investing in people, advocating for equitable opportunities, and ensuring that a child’s zip code never determines the possibilities available to them.

Last week, Southeast Children’s Fund officially welcomed Kamren Rollins as Chief Executive Officer.

Having served the organization since 2019 and most recently as Interim CEO, Kamren now leads SCF into its next chapter while building upon the extraordinary foundation established by our founder, Frances J. Rollins.

We remain committed to investing in the people who shape young lives by strengthening the early childhood workforce, expanding educational opportunity, and building partnerships that create lasting impact throughout Washington, DC.
