As we look back on 2021, +Peace had many moments that really embodied our mission of making peacebuilding known, accessible, and actionable. One such highlight were the 2021 Global Days of Action on Military Spending and the Rally to Demilitarize the Budget, which took place in May of 2021 🔥demonstrations occurred all over the world, and we are grateful to have been one star in this powerful constellation of peacebuilders 🌟

The National Day of Mourning began in 1970 as a form of protest to the 350th anniversary celebration of the arrival of the Pilgrims. This is also a narrative shift, moving agency back to Indigenous communities to tell the story of the colonization of Turtle Island.
Narratives are an essential component of building peace and justice. We stand with Indigenous communities and honor the call to decolonize our narratives and culture in the United States and beyond.

Climate change will continue to intensify displacement for communities around the world, and exponentially so for marginalized and exploited communities. Displacement threatens human rights and exacerbates the violence that occurs for migrants and refugees.
