We joined the Wingate community for their Fall Festival. Thank you for the invite 🙏🏽 It was great to revisit the community for yet another opportunity to engage with residents.

Various resources were available and we saw a lot of familiar faces. After we greeted and hugged one another, everyone came together with residents for a morning stretch with . Once warmed up and stretched out, we spent time with the residents, shared resources and made new connections 💪🏽

Thank you to those who joined the No Slide Zone movement! It will take all of us to make an impact on gun violence.

Today we join members of the Ward 7 ANC for their annual Public Safety Day:

11:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Our own Cousin Wayne will be on site for a training on “Know Me” geared towards our youth.

There will be resource tables, trainings, food and music! Join in the peace walk with and make time to meet your ANC representatives to hear about the work they’re doing on your behalf. DDOT will also be present to discuss street safety concerns.

Bring the family for a day of activities, healing and learning. If you get too hot, feel free to visit the pool next door to cool off 🏊🏽‍♀️

As many of you are most likely aware, the country was still reeling from the recent mass shooting in Buffalo when 21 more individuals were killed just a few days ago in Texas. This, in addition to the most recent killing here in the city of a young teenager.

In reaction, one of our partners, The Way to Happiness Washington DC Chapter, is hosting a March Against Violence on Memorial Day. It will begin at the Lincoln Memorial and go to the WWII Memorial. Join us 10:30!
