🌟As we head into the final quarter of 2026, we’re taking some time to reintroduce the dedicated leaders who have helped guide the DC Psychological Association this year.

Today, we’re recognizing Dr. Syretta R. James, President of DCPA. As she prepares to conclude her term in December, we’re grateful for the time, leadership, and vision she has given to the association over the past four years of board service.

During her time on the board, Dr. James has helped strengthen DCPA from the inside out — from improving organizational operations and membership management to helping refresh the association’s branding, website, and bylaws. Her leadership has helped lay the groundwork for a stronger organization moving forward.

Thank you, Dr. James, for your commitment to DCPA, your fellow psychologists, and the continued growth of our association. We’re grateful for all you’ve contributed and for the lasting impact of your service. 💙

Stay tuned as we continue introducing the 2026 DCPA Board of Directors!

AI is already showing up in clinical, academic, and research settings—but do we really understand what’s happening behind the screen?

Join Scott Peck for “Ethical Applications of AI in Psychological Practice” and take a practical look at how AI generates responses, why it can get things wrong, and what psychologists need to consider when using these tools.

From document grounding to keeping humans in power, this session will help you think more critically about where AI fits—and where extra caution is needed.
