On June 5th, World Environment Day, Rasin Devlopman came together with World Vision, local group AAPLAG, and others, to mobilize 60 volunteers who planted more than 600 coffee trees in the third communal section of the island of La Gonave, Haiti!

Location: Anse-a-Galets, Island of La Gonave, Haiti
Project: As part of their work to strengthen civil society on the island, Rasin supports projects undertaken by other community-based groups and associations on La Gonave. In 2025, Rasin supported a youth engineering competition, the construction of a community clinic, a public square, and a fish market, the planting of fruit trees, and training and support for crop preservation.

Rasin Devlopman held two Reyaji community dialogue sessions at the end of May: one in Pointe-a-Raquette on how young people can use social media for profit in 2026 and one at the Rasin office in Anse-a-Galets focused on analyzing the health system situation following USAID funding cuts.

Location: Island of La Gonave, Haiti
Project: REYAJI is a space for dialogue among the residents of La Gonave, opening up space for gatherings, led by experts, to discuss issues of community importance. Each time Rasin opens up its office for these dialogues, local residents show up to engage in constructive discussions about the future of the city, commune, and island. These are a space for citizens and local authorities to meet, connect, and, eventually, create strategies to resolve problems in their community.

Rasin Devlopman now has a backyard garden! They worked with local group STATFYSH and Agronomist Nathalie Mathieu to establish a small courtyard garden that will be used as an educational space for future editions of the Ankadre youth engagement program!

The Konbit Guide is HERE!!

In 2021, Gwoup Konbit began an ambitious project: to create a guide to the principles, values, and practice of Konbit. Over the course of four years and with contributions from more than 300 leaders across Haiti, they have finished the Guide and the first copies have been printed!

The final Guide is a 200-page, beautifully illustrated exploration of Konbit, a deeply Haitian tradition of mutual aid and collective action stemming from rural agriculture that Gwoup Konbit has revived and embraced as a way to reawaken collective strength across Haiti.

Gwoup Konbit has printed a thousand copies in French and Creole and will be hosting a launch event for the Guide in Haiti later this week, kicking off a six-week tour of the country distributing copies and hosting trainings on the Konbit’s values and principles.
