Imagine a third-world country where gender roles traditionally exclude women from operating a motorized vehicle. Then, imagine these women providing transportation to men. Then, imagine these women charging a fee for their time and service.

Mobility for Africa disrupts transportation gaps in rural cities while applying pressure on traditional gender roles.

Driven by her early experiences living in rural Zambia where women carried the enormous burden of walking long distances carrying goods, water and children with no support, Shantha founded a social enterprise that brings green mobility solutions to rural women.

“Opportunities of a lifetime have to be seized within the lifetime if he opportunity.” A quote that would inspire Kimberly to acquire child transportation company, . She pivoted from the idea of being an “Uber for kids” to focusing on building a national brand, creating the reality of sustainable multi-modal transportation across the country for schools.

Her rideshare company is the first of its kind, whose customers are schools, opposed to traditional rideshare companies whose customers are passengers.

Margarita’s journey began as an after-school provider. When parents were unable to pick up their kids or transport them to their extra-curricular activities, she was willing to do so in her own personal vehicle. In her 2003 Honda Accord, Margarita turned these free rides into a viable business named Titi’s Kiddie Kab, which years later would later become JumpRydz!
