Gone but not forgotten. The final Ride for Natasha happened yesterday. Great day for riding and reflection amongst some of our favorite peoples.

There are more collisions in PG County involving pedestrians in any of the other counties... this ride sends a message that the roads belong to all of us, and we must respect the streets and the cyclists.
Natasha was hit and killed on September 19th, 2010, while riding her bicycle as she trained for a Half Ironman. The driver hit her and continued home with Natasha’s bicycle lodged under her SUV.

This ride called attention to the need for keen awareness so that everyone can share the road resources. In addition, the ride helped to remember the loss of a beautiful lady who was gone too soon!!!

Did you know?
📍 Natasha H. Pettigrew was struck and killed on September 19, 2010, while riding her bike training for a Half Ironman — the driver fled the scene with her bicycle still lodged under the SUV.
📍 This ride was founded by Natasha’s mother, Kenniss Henry, to honor her daughter and push for safer streets for everyone who bikes, walks, or rolls.
📍 There’s a commemorative bench dedicated to Natasha along the route — a quiet place to remember her.
📍 Riders can choose between a 46-mile route to the Kunta Kinte-Alex Haley Memorial in Annapolis, MD, or a 15-mile local ride through Prince George’s County — both routes split at mile 6.9.
📍 Prince George’s County has one of the highest rates of pedestrian and cyclist collisions in the region — this ride is a rolling reminder that the road belongs to all of us.
📍 What started as a small memorial ride has grown into one of the DMV’s most meaningful community rides, bringing together cyclists year after year in Natasha’s memory.

Come roll with us, share the road safely, and help carry Natasha’s story forward. All levels of riders are welcome! 🚲✨

Finding time, any time for time in the saddle is great. Even when it seems like you’re running out of time.

The Sgt Major said we doing a little 998 climbing for his birthday and we did a little climbing, laughing & suffering we did indeed. Got JayDee up from NC and had a blast. To one of the best partners you you could ask for...we rocked the party out.
Cheers 🍻 to the Sgt Major aka Godpapa

Missed all the Come Get Your Bike On group rides so far this season. Working to get to some rides soon — in the meantime, I’m gonna enjoy some sunshine and this cool CGYBO jersey as I enjoy the wind blowing through my hair 😁
