Congratulations to Audrey and Eleanor Lee on qualifying for the Drive, Chip & Putt Regional Qualifier! Eleanor won the Girls 10–11 division, and Audrey finished second in the Girls 7–9 division at the Drive, Chip & Putt Sub-Regional at River Bend Golf & Country Club. Next, they'll compete at the Regional Qualifier at Laurel Valley Golf Club in Pennsylvania. At the Regional Qualifier, the overall champion in each of the boys and girls divisions from the four age categories will advance to the National Finals to be held the Sunday before the 2027 Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. We are proud of both of their accomplishments and wish them the best at Regionals!

Participants Andy, Lena, and Phillip, along with alumna Christina, had an incredible week representing FTGWDC at the 2026 Game Changers Academy in Minneapolis! Through five days of leadership development, self-reflection, and community-building, they gained valuable skills and experiences that will help them make a lasting impact as Game Changers in their communities!

Congratulations to the top finishers at our 6th Annual Pro-Junior Tournament at Leisure World Golf Club! Columbia Country Club claimed 1st place at 23-under, followed by Bethesda Country Club at 19-under and Chevy Chase Club at 17-under. Congratulations to all of our participants on a fantastic day of golf!

Marcus Byrd, First Tee-GWDC alum, professional golfer and chapter ambassador, hosted his 3rd annual youth golf clinic in memory of his father, Larry, who got him started playing the game right here at Langston Golf Course. First Tee-GWDC participants received golf instruction at full swing, chipping and putting stations from Marcus and his friends who served as guest coaches. Recently, we hosted the 25th Anniversary Southern Company Politics and Pros Golf Classic presented by Comcast at Woodmont CC, where we also celebrated these two longtime sponsors for their dedication to our chapter and support of our mission. With the leadership of Bryan Anderson at Southern Company and Lance West at Comcast, First Tee-GWDC receives support and resources that help us serve nearly 2,000 participants at 25 golf facilities throughout the Greater Washington area.
