A Minneapolis man has been charged with second-degree murder after DNA found on a cigarette butt at the scene of the crime matched his profile in the convicted offender database. BCA scientists tested the cigarette butt and derived a DNA profile that matched a profile for Marcus Desmarais in the CODIS database.
