As the day comes to an end, Tokens of Love would like to highlight a special Health Holiday: National Donors Day. National Donors Day is observed every year on February 14th to help raise awareness about different types of organ and tissue donations, to celebrate those who have given and received organ donations, and to give information on how to register to become a donor. Good morning everyone! For World Cancer Day please consider donating to an organization that deals with cancer research and/or directly interacts with cancer patients. This year we will be supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Hero Squad Program to raise funds for blood cancer research and patient support services. We will be supporting this program through donating to Chelsea Land’s classroom at Culpepper Middle School. Good Evening everyone! For the second Tokens of Love Health Holiday, we have decided to focus on children with thyroid diseases since January is also Thyroid Disease Awareness Month. With help from various sources such as Cedars Sinai Hospital and the American Thyroid Association, we were able to provide you all with some information about multiple thyroid diseases, what signs and symptoms to look out for, and other websites you can learn more about thyroid disease in children. Good Afternoon everyone! Tokens of Love is proud to present our first of many Health Holidays. Health Holidays are weekly posts that highlight diseases, disorders, or any form of health ailment that affects children. Health Holidays are meant to provide the public with information about the highlighted disease and ways they can help. Since January is Glaucoma awareness month, this week’s Health Holiday is dedicated to children with glaucoma. Thanks to The Children’s Glaucoma Foundation, we were able to provide you with information about the disease, what signs and symptoms to look out for, and other resources where you can learn more about childhood glaucoma. An article from the Kaiser Family Foundation says that consumer awareness about ACA coverage options have fallen in recent years. Only 59% of the public knows the ACA offers subsidies for marketplace health plans, and only 43% know Open Enrollment is the time to sign up for Marketplace plans. Because of these low numbers, we want to present a short comprehensive guide to enrolling in a health care plan under the Affordable Care Act. Our goal is to donate 30 gifts and that’s entirely possible with your help! Share this post on your social media with the hashtag to challenge your friends and family to give this holiday season as well. Here's how you and your family can donate.

1. Open Cash App, select the amount that you want to donate, press pay, and type in $givetokensoflove.
2. In the "for" section type your preferred age range and gender, as well as your email address. If you don't have a preference for who your gift goes to, just type your email.
Ex: Girl:5-7 years old; [email protected]. Once you have filled out that information, press pay.
After the gifts have been delivered you will receive an email with pictures to show what gifts you have blessed someone with this holiday season! All cash donations should be sent in by December 15th. Thank you all in advance for your donations!

Tokens of Love (noun): Gifts or acts of service from one person to another out of the kindness of one's heart. Tokens of Love is a non-profit community service organization that aims to lighten the emotional, financial, mental, and physical toll that a serious illness can have on a child and their family. Some of the love tokens that you all can expect are: monthly drives and events, information on and about health holidays, and information on health and healthcare resources (did you know the deadline to enroll in the ACA is only 16 days away?).
