A month into the Fall 2024 semester we asked TLSA students to reflect on their experience so far. These students at Kent State shared, “Embracing every new experience – life at Kent is off to a great start.” and “My experience so far has been full of new things, meeting new people, seeing new places and mesmerizing natural sceneries, and learning a lot of new things, I was not exactly a sports person, but I am now getting myself to try all kinds of new sports on campus. There is always something to be done around campus, and there are always cultural events that are very insightful on how people from the different sides of the world live. It's been fun to say the least.”

Food can build bridges, create connections, and deepen relationships. This TL student shared his experience on the food in his host community.

“As for Panda Express, I do enjoy it! It serves great Chinese food, and I love that it's open late, so it's a convenient option when you're craving something delicious after hours. In general, I like the food in the U.S.—there's such a variety. You can find food from different world cuisines, so there are plenty of options to choose from depending on what you're in the mood for!”
