Please consider helping us upgrade our fields!
Southwest Summer Ball is seeking donations to help purchase new bases for our baseball and softball fields. Our current bases have seen many seasons of practices, games, slides, and championships, and a few of them have huge rips and tears.

New bases will help provide:
✅ A safer playing environment for our athletes
✅ Improved field conditions for games and tournaments
✅ A better experience for all players, coaches, and families

Upon pricing the bases-with new double bases for the baseball field as well since it will be required in high school baseball starting next year and we want to train our athletes with the correct types of bases, we are looking at almost $1000 needed to buy the bases.

Every dollar makes a difference, and no donation is too small. Your support directly benefits the young athletes who participate in Southwest Summer Ball each year.ett tg

The baseball and softball pitching clinics gave kids some good fundamentals to get started.
We are thankful to Austin Tripp, Addy Payne, and Johnica Jones for coming out and working with our kids.

Next year, we hope to add a catching clinic and a hitting clinic.

Softball Coaching Clinic

Southwest Summer Ball is hosting a softball pitching clinic on Saturday, April 25th starting at 10 am for elementary, with JH/HS scheduled for 11:30.

The clinic is open to elementary, JH, and HS and cost $5 per player-payable when you arrive.

If your peewee girl is interested, please message us.

The clinic is being run by Johnica Jones.

Johnica started pitching at age 9 and went on to play college ball.

Her degree is in fitness and movement of the human body. She studied biomechanics of throwing athletes for her last two years of college.

She was a head HS softball coach for many years before stepping down to focus on her daughter and giving private lessons at her gym, EAP.

She has done online training to learn “International Rotation/whip” pitching mechanics, and she believes it is best for athletes bodies from a biomechanical standpoint. She also teaches pitching patterns and approaches to pitchers and catchers. She believes in being a student of the game while also remembering it is a game.

Johnica will be helped by Addy Payne, a current HS pitcher for Southwest, and Linda Morgan.. These ladies have a combined 57 years of pitching/softball experience.

Baseball Pitching Clinic

Summer ball is hosting a baseball pitching clinic for SW summer ball players on Saturday, April 18th from 9-12 at the ballfields. The clinic is open for the minors, majors, and Jr Pony divisions, and the cost is $5 per player due at the gate. Right now, we are signing up SW summer ball players only. If we have room for others, we will post an update next week.

Austin Tripp is running it.

Austin Tripp has been playing baseball for as long as he can remember, competing at multiple levels and dedicating much of his life to the game year-round. With experience as a pitcher and a catcher, Austin brings a unique perspective to player development, especially in pitching. His background allows him to teach not only mechanics, but also game awareness, strategy, and communication between pitchers and catchers.

*If the interest in this clinic exceeds capacity for this event, we will consider hosting another one. That way anyone who wants would have an opportunity to participate.

At this point, all coaches should have received a copy of their roster for the summer. You should be hearing from them soon.
