One of our Washburn Area Museum board members recently had a few trees cut down in his back woods. He found this sign that had been discarded there (apparently several years ago). After showing the photo of it to other board members at last night’s meeting, it was confirmed that this sign belonged to Orville Eliason, Sr. who used to rent boats and sell live bait down at Thompson’s West End Park. If there are any of Orville Eliason’s family members out there who would like to have this sign, please reach out to us by sending us a message so that we can get it to you. Thank you!

The 1893 brick section of City Hall was originally Washburn’s first library. The brownstone addition, added in the 1930’s was salvaged from the old Northern State Bank Building.
