According to a recent National Geographic article, there’s a backyard plant that may play an interesting role—and it just happens to be critical habitat for one of our favorite pollinators: the monarch butterfly! 🦋
🌱 Did you guess MILKWEED? You’re correct!
Milkweed is already a superstar in the garden, providing the only food source for monarch caterpillars. And now there’s even more reason to appreciate this native plant.
Who knew one little plant could be so important? 💚

Garden Therapy: Bringing the Joy of Flowers to 🌸

Through hands-on flower arranging, seniors have the opportunity to be creative, connect with others and enjoy the simple joy of working with flowers. 🌿

Warwick Valley Gardeners holds six Garden Therapy flower-arranging sessions each year at Schervier Pavilion, sharing flowers, friendship and a little sunshine with our local seniors.

We’re grateful to our wonderful volunteers who make these special moments possible! 💚🌷

Summer is still in full swing, and Railroad Green is putting on a beautiful show! ❤️💛🤍

The bold red hibiscus, delicate yellow Coreopsis and airy white candytuft are adding bright pops of color to the garden and welcoming everyone passing through the Village.

🌸 From Springtime to Summer Color! 🌼

Some of our hardworking volunteers from our spring planting days helped get our public gardens ready for another beautiful season!

Look at those blooms now! The Welcome Garden is bursting with yellow, pink, and orange blooms, adding a cheerful splash of color at Forester Avenue.

Thanks to a beautiful day and an amazing group of volunteers, they spent the day gardening at our Pine Island Butterfly Garden! ☀️🌸🦋

Together they gave this special pollinator habitat a little extra love. Every hour volunteered helps create a welcoming space for butterflies, bees, birds, and everyone who visits.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to lend a hand. 💚
