I personally went a retrieved Dory who is doing WONDERFUL in her foster home thanks to West Warwick Angel's Caring for Animals, here is her update!
The UPDATE!
Dory had a looong day at the vet. She has a thyroid condition and is now on medication. Very treatable! She is on an antibiotic for her VERY inflamed mouth. It appears her wobbly walk was not from injury per se....but from severe weakness and dehydration and she was infested with fleas. She had bloodwork done, and received all appropriate vaccinations and was treated for all those pesky fleas! She is an older girl, approx 13 years old, so the going thought is her eye is cloudy from cataracts but it will be monitored and checked on when she goes back to the vet to make sure her thyroid levels are where they should be with her new medication. She is currently headed to her foster who will make sure she gets all the love and safety she deserves!!! If you have ever thought about fostering, just know stories like this cant happen without fosters!!!
To everyone who has donated so far, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are amazing. Cats like Dory depend on people like us to support nonprofits like West Warwick Angel's Caring for Animals so they can keep doing their amazing work. If you haven't donated and would like to, PLEASE go to https://www.westwarwickangels.org/donations.html. Even $5 adds up to life-saving money when enough people do it!
If you can't donate financially, West Warwick Caring for Animals also does an online yardsale. If you have anything you would like to donate, I have a gigantic SUV and will personally come pick it up or meet you anywhere in Rhode Island. Just please, no big furniture or items in poor condition. Small kitchen appliances, books, toys, games, clothing, pictures, you know....yard sale stuff! They advertise the yardsale on facebook and a link brings people to an auction site to buy items and the profits go right to helping cats like Dory!
