ICYMI: On Friday Oct 2, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network - ACS CAN hosted our 13th annual Rhode Island Research Breakfast event, emceed by the incomparable Shannon Hegy - WPRI. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and attendees, we raised nearly $107,000 for ACS CAN's work here in RI and across the country!

We were honored to hear from our legislative partners including Senator Jack Reed, Representative Seth Magaziner, Congressman Gabe Amo, Rhode Island Senate Sen. Hanna Gallo, and Rhode Island House of Representatives Rep. Deborah Fellela. The dynamic program featured a keynote presentation by Dr. Hina Khan of the Brown University Health on the incredible clinical trial and research work happening in RI, as well as a panel discussion highlighting the importance of sustained investment in cancer research and innovation by Bob Cormier of the RI Life Science Hub, Danya Lavin, PhD of Ocean State Labs, and Dr. Hina Khan.

At ACS CAN, we believe everyone should have a fair and just opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer. We’re more determined than ever to fight alongside our volunteers, advocates, and friends to put an end cancer as we know it, for everyone.
