If you drive by Station 9 on Commonwealth Ave, you may notice it has a new coat of paint.

The members stationed there have taken it upon themselves to freshen the place up a bit.

We do our best to maintain all of our equipment and firehouses to the best of our capabilities. While the City has mechanics, electricians and plumbers who assist us, we’re certainly not above slinging some paint, polishing some floors or keeping something running until proper repairs can be made.

It’s all part of the mission, which is being ready to assist you. Always.

Our thoughts are with the members of Boston Firefighters Local 718 IAFF and with the loved ones of Firefighter Robert Kilduff Jr.

FF. Kilduff died in the line of duty last night while battling a 3rd Alarm structure fire.
