🇺🇸 Freedom Fest 250 was a powerful reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism that have shaped our nation.

It was an honor to recognize our local veterans and hear from Attorney General Todd Rokita, Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith, and Johnny Butler of Honor and Remember.

One of the most moving moments came when Lieutenant Governor Beckwith shared portions of General Dwight D. Eisenhower’s message to the Allied forces before the D-Day invasion. His words reminded us of the immense courage displayed by the Greatest Generation and the tremendous cost of preserving freedom around the world.

As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, we remain grateful for all who have answered the call to serve—from the beaches of Normandy to today’s military missions. Their legacy continues to inspire us to cherish and defend the freedoms we enjoy.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped honor those who served, those who sacrificed, and those we will never forget.

🇺🇸 Freedom lives on because brave men and women were willing to defend it.

This weekend always feels a little different.

Yes, there will be gatherings, laughter, and the start of summer—but underneath it all, there’s a quiet reminder in our heart of why this weekend truly matters.

The John C. Peterson Auxiliary Unit 49 doesn’t take lightly the privilege of remembering those who gave everything for our freedom. These aren’t just names in history books—they are sons, daughters, parents, friends… deeply loved and never forgotten.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” – John 15:13

This weekend, we’ll be thinking of the families who carry both pride and loss every single day. We’ll be saying a prayer of gratitude for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

And we’ll be reminded to live a little more intentionally, a little more gratefully—because of them.

May we never forget. ❤️🤍💙

The red poppy speaks where words fall short — a silent tribute to the sacrifices made for our freedom by the heroes who served and died for our country in all wars. ❤️‍🩹 The poppy is a reminder that their courage will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

After World War I, the American Legion Family brought National Poppy Day® to the United States by asking Congress to designate the Friday before Memorial Day as National Poppy Day.

The Auxiliary promotes the poppy as a symbol of the sacrifices our military have made, a symbol to open people’s hearts and inspire them to donate to help support the future of veterans, servicemembers, and their families. 🇺🇸

Today, on National Poppy Day, wear a red poppy to honor the fallen and support the living. ❤️
