Check this project out! This will be a great addition to the property and opportunity to get outside! Maybe it should be a future YOU event site?
Here's some bright news on this grey winter day ☀️ Tri-County Fish & Wildlife Area (FWA) has received a grant from the Community Amenities Program (CAP) for a new 3D archery range and walking trail!
The grant was awarded to the DNR by the Community Amenities Program (CAP) and will support the construction of the range and trail. There will be 25 target stations, allowing archers to hone their skills in an outdoor setting. The trail will be 1.5 miles long through oak-hickory woodlands with scenic lake views and will have three rest areas. Trail construction is currently underway with plans for completion by mid-2026.
If you haven't been to Tri-County FWA, it's definitely worth adding to your must-visit list! The property is located north of North Webster and is the largest publicly accessible green space in Kosciusko County, encompassing 3,546 acres of land with more than 650 acres of lakes and streams. It includes upland fields, wetlands, and 10 natural lakes.
CAP is a countywide initiative designed to enhance the quality of life across Kosciusko County by investing in shared spaces and projects that strengthen community connection. Backed by a portion of the Orthopedic Industry Retention Initiative’s $30 million commitment from the State of Indiana, CAP helps bring bold community visions to life by combining local, state, and philanthropic resources.
