Urgent Appeal
The Northern Neck Chapter of Virginia requests assistance in getting the word out to the public about a new proposed development in the pristine area known as Fones Cliff on the Rappahannock River now under threat by an out-of-state developer. The Richmond Co. Planning Commission recently went against their own comprehensive plan and approved the rezoning request 7-2. It now must go to the Board of Supervisors sometime later this month or next. We need your help urgently to get the word out.
The Fones Cliff area is an extremely pristine and historically significant property. Captain John Smith was taken there when captured by local Native Americans. It is also home to one of the largest populations of Bald Eagles in the country and a wintering migration area for thousands upon thousands of mallards, black ducks, teal and Canada geese. Its preservation is paramount to a clean and thriving Chesapeake Bay and Rappahannock River.
Help us get the word out.

Please share the petition as far and wide as you can. Though it is designed for Richmond Co. residents (their voices will matter the most) it is imperative we get as many people to sign it from around the area, region, state and country as we can!

The rezoning of this property would go against the County’s own Strategic Plan and sets a dangerous precedent while putting Richmond Cou…
