Friends of the Benton County Sheriff's Office Our Mission is to solicit, receive, administer and expend funds for the Benton County Sheriff's Office beyond the realm of traditional resources. b. d.

The Friends of the Benton County Sheriff’s Office is a non-profit group that has been established to provide resources to help support the needs of the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. Our Mission Statement is to solicit, receive, administer, and expend funds for the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and the Benton County Jail beyond the realm of traditional resources for the betterment of our communi

ty. We plan to do this in a variety of ways; through local fund-raising events, networking with charitable businesses and corporations and through state and federal grants. With the funds we raise, and the volunteers who wish to support the Benton County Sheriff’s Office we hope to:

a. Improve staffing by providing funds for additional deputies and/or augment current deputy salaries. The Sheriff’s Office is very short staffed, our immediate goal is to provide funding to add two deputies to the staff. Provide equipment to improve the safety and effectiveness of the sheriff’s deputy’s activities. Safety equipment needs include tasers, shields, protective gear and more. Items that should be routine to protect our deputies are either outdated or lacking all together. Our current equipment financial goal is over $200,000.00

c. Provide community education classes, internet safety and self-defense classes are already being planned. Through these, and other educational programing we hope to strengthen the partnership between the sheriff, the sheriff’s deputies and the community. Provide additional funding to relieve the eventual cost to Benton County taxpayers for the construction and maintenance of a new Benton County Jail and Sheriff’s Office or Justice Center

e. Aid in training for Sheriff’s Office personnel. We have a very ambitious goal, but also a very worthy need. The men and women who serve
Benton County and work for the Benton County Sheriff’s Office have been working hard to get drugs out of our community and keep its citizens safe. Help us serve and protect those who protect and serve us.
