CERT Team,

It’s time to get the team together, get organized, and prepare for what’s ahead!

Please join us for an important Kosciusko County CERT Team Meeting on Saturday, September 26 at 9:00 AM in the Audio Visual Room, located in the basement of the Justice Building. Employee's Entrance on W Main St. Warsaw, IN. Parking will be in the County Parking lot. We will be sharing some exciting news about the team and the direction it is headed.

Please bring your CERT backpack and your phone.

During the meeting, we will:

Conduct a CERT equipment and bag check to make sure everyone has the equipment they need and that it is ready for deployment.

Review Deploy Pro and make sure everyone is comfortable using it for team notifications, communications, and deployments.

Discuss upcoming training, activities, and deployment opportunities.

Talk about the future direction of Kosciusko County CERT and how we can continue building a strong, dependable team that is ready to serve our community.

CERT is only as strong as the volunteers who make the commitment to train, prepare, and respond when our community needs us. Every member has an important role, and your participation and ideas will help determine where we go from here.

I am excited about what we are building and what this team can accomplish together. Please make every effort to attend.

📻📱 MONDAY GEAR CHECK | Kosciusko County CERT
When an emergency happens, your phone may not always be your lifeline. Cell service can become overloaded, power can go out, and a dead battery can leave you without important information.
🎒 This Monday, check your backup communication gear:
🔋 Is your portable power bank fully charged?
🔌 Do you have the right charging cables packed?
📻 Does your battery-powered or hand-crank radio work?
📝 Do you have important phone numbers written down somewhere besides your phone?
📣 Do you have a whistle or another way to signal for help?
⚠️ Do you know where to get reliable local emergency information?
CERT TIP: Don’t wait for the power to go out to discover your power bank is dead or your radio batteries are corroded. Give everything a quick test today!
Preparedness isn’t just about having the gear — it’s about knowing it will work when you need it. 💚

Sundays are a good day to slow down, reset, and take a quick look around.

Before the week gets busy again, take a minute to ask yourself:

🔦 Do I know where my flashlight is?
📱 Is my emergency contact information up to date?
🩹 Is my first-aid kit stocked?
🚗 Do I have an emergency kit in my vehicle?
🏠 Does my family know what to do if the power goes out or an emergency happens?

Preparedness doesn’t have to be complicated. A few minutes today can make a big difference when you need it most.

When you call 911, every second matters. Making sure your address is clearly visible can help firefighters, EMS, and other emergency responders locate your home as quickly as possible.

The Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory offers reflective green address signs for $20. These highly visible signs can make your address easier to spot — day or night. 🌙🔦

📍 Signs can be ordered through Station #13, 2204 E. Center Street, Warsaw.

📬 If placing the sign on your mailbox, be sure the numbers are visible to vehicles approaching from both directions.
