FOOD DRIVE TO BENEFIT THE BENTON COUNTY FOOD PANTRY
Sponsored by ELK'S LODGE #2787. The Food Pantry is a not for profit organization with 100% volunteers. In July 2021 we served 452 families and 1021 individuals. Over 50% of people we serve are Senior Citizens. We completely depend on Grants and monetary donations from individuals and businesses to keep our doors open. The Benton County Food Pantry received a $4,489.00 Grant from The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri. The funds were used for an electric pallet jack to help provide hunger-relief to Benton County families.
The Benton County food pantry is one of the Food Bank's more than 140 partner agencies across its 32-county service area in central and northeast Missouri. This grant is in addition to the food regulatory provided by The Food Bank to the Benton county food pantry for local distribution.
The grant is one piece of $179,000 in Capacity Building Grants that the Food Bank is providing to 23 partner agencies in 13 counties. The funding , made possible by Feeding America, will help increase local abilities to help people facing food insecurity.

THE BENTON COUNTY FOOD PANTRY was established in 2007 when we separated from the West Central Community Action Agency. We are a not for profit group operated 100% with volunteers. We rely on donations and grant money for our operating costs. Our food sources come from the Central Missouri food bank and local donations.]
