😻WILL WORK FOR FOOD!😻

Not every cat dreams of couch life. Some prefer a career. A purpose. A territory to patrol. A barn to guard. A warehouse to supervise. A shed to claim as their kingdom.

We currently have 7 incredible Working Cats who are ready for placement, and they need YOU.
These cats:
🐈Prefer independence over cuddles
🐈May not be fans of getting picked up
🐈Thrive with space, structure, and a job to do
🐈Are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped
✨And the best part?

We deliver them to you, set them up in their temporary relocation enclosures, and support you through the entire acclimation process to ensure success.🤝

❤️ Why It Matters?
Giving these cats a safe working home opens up desperately needed space in our crowded shelter. Placing these 7 cats doesn’t just save 7 lives... it saves 14!
Seven cats get their new start, and seven more get a chance to take their place in the shelter.

🌾 Ideal Homes:
Barns
Farms
Workshops
Warehouses

Breweries
Any safe indoor/outdoor working environment

If you have room for a pair (or more!) of hardworking feline employees, they’re ready to clock in.

🚨 🚨 THESE CATS NEED PLACED ASAP!! We really need to get the cages they are being kept in opened up! We are in the busiest months of the year right now!! 🚨 🚨

We currently have
3 semi friendly cats,
2 semi feral cats and
2 feral cats.
All looking for shop/barn home placements!

They are getting very stressed out being inside with us at the shelter.

They will need acclimated to their new areas for 2-4 weeks, before being released. A daily food/water source and shelter provided to be sure they stay on your property.

These cats were living outside previously and were thriving. They cannot go back to where they came from for various reasons and they are not indoor house cats. None of them are from the same area, with exception to Junie & Skeeter.

All barn cats are spayed/neutered, eartipped, vaccinated and current on monthly parasite prevention.

Shop/Barn cats have no set adoption fee, we just ask for a monetary donation to help us continue the program.

‼️You will need a large dog sized crate for each cat for acclimation time. (We do not have any to loan out.) And a smaller sized cat carrier to transport in (we do not have any to loan out, please bring your own to pick up) and you would also use the smaller crate as the “safe spot” in the bigger dog crate. Please see comments for a photo of an acclimation cage set up and further directions on how to acclimate properly. This ensures they stay on your property after the acclimation period.‼️

Paper Barncat applications to be filled out at FCAC. Please contact us if you can help with placing any of these kitties!

We need your help… 🐾

Right now, we have 12 working cats at the shelter who are ready to get back to what they do best — living life on their own terms.

These aren’t your typical lap cats, and that’s okay. 💛
Our working cats are low-interaction companions who prefer space, routine, and independence. They’re happiest with a place of their own — a barn, garage, workshop, or similar space where they can settle in and just be cats.

Some of these cats have been with us for a couple of months now, which is far too long for cats who don’t thrive in a shelter setting. They’re ready for fresh air, freedom, and a place to call their own.

Here’s the best part:
• $0 adoption fee
• Spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and ready to go
• We can even bring them to you (within 20 miles!)

All they need is:
✔ A safe, sheltered space
✔ Consistent food and water
✔ A short adjustment period to learn that this is home

We’ll walk you through how to set them up for success — it’s easier than you think, and we’re here to help every step of the way.

If you’ve got a space and the ability to give a cat a safe place to land, this is such a meaningful way to make a difference.

‼️WE NEED BARN HOMES‼️

Please share! Tag your friends and family, talk to your neighbors! It's that time of year again. We won't sugarcoat it. There are dozens of unadoptable cats sitting in our area shelters in desperate need of a second chance. These cats are at risk of euthanasia.

These cats do not prefer the company of humans, but they are hard workers and provide a tremendous benefit keeping the rodent population down on your property, farm, garage or business.

They are fixed and vaccinated. No adoption fee. We provide the instructions and acclimation supplies.

Reach out to us to inquire! We are feeling the weight of this need in our community and area right now. We are getting calls for help.

We mobilized together nearly a year ago to help dozens of cats needing a new home at Oak Grove. Can we do it again?

❗️🆘 ❗️Barn/Shop homes
needed ASAP!!! ❗️🆘❗️

❗️We have 11 kitties in all, needing placement!! That’s 11 cages that will be freed up to help other cats, currently on our intake waitlist! ❗️

⚠️ We especially NEED YOUR HELP in placing the remainder of the cat colony that lived at at Tweedlee D's here in Rochester! We know that winter makes it a bit more difficult to do, but these kitties are depending on you to break them out of the shelter!! ⚠️

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As most of you are aware, Tweedlee D’s owner Deb Ogle passed away recently. 💔 The restaurant has since closed and this colony had to be relocated. Staff of FCAC stepped in along with some volunteers, to document how many there were for sure and trapping was done to get them all caught. They were all visually assessed and the few that needed spayed/neutered & eartipped have been as well.
This was a mostly managed colony (already been spayed/neutered and eartipped) and they have always lived outdoors. They range from a few years old to 9 years old. This crew was loved by SO many and they were well fed and had great shelters built for them!
These kitties are not housecats! They are all semi feral and need to be placed ASAP, as they are getting stressed out being stuck inside cages here at the shelter! They cannot be returned to the Tweedle D’s property for numerous reasons.
We had hoped they would all very quickly be placed, as we had over a dozen people say they’d step in to take a few. But as of tonight, only 5 have found placement! These 8 are still needing placed! They need out of here ASAP!!
All are semi feral, with exception to Old Mama - who is estimated to be at least 9 years old. She is semi friendly and allows pets, but is very shy and does not like to be handled too much.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Barn kitties will do best in pairs if you don’t already have other outside kitties. They do not have set adoption fees, all we ask is for any kind of monetary donation to help us continue our barn cat program!!

They will require acclimation time, before being released into their new surroundings. 📍See comments for acclimation information.

If you can help, please reach out!

Open hours:
Monday/Saturday 11-4
Tuesday/Friday 11-5
Wednesday 11-6
Thursday/Sunday CLOSED

** It is not advised to relocate established cat colonies. Under the circumstances of this situation, this colony didn’t have a choice. If you are feeding numerous cats outside, please make it a point to try to start getting them spayed/neutered & eartipped! We have a Low Cost Spay/Neuter for cats held here at FCAC for Fulton County residents! It is only $25 per cat! Link to schedule and see all the information is posted in comments.

Let’s get these kitties placed!! ♥️
