CURB APPEAL -WIB teams of two will drive down every street looking for eye-catching front yards from July 5-31. Nominations are not necessary but will be accepted to July 25. Please submit nominations via PM (Private Message).
Here's the criteria:
1) So attractive, grabs the attention of anyone driving or walking by.
2) Planned, neat, well landscaped. Smattering of scattered flowers doesn't work.
3) Colorful flowers in ground garden landscaping are essential. Could be supplemented with a planter or two, Planters alone do not qualify,
4) Including black-eyed Susans, our city flower, is a plus.
5) Avoid single species, as common yellow or orange lilies.
6) Pocket gardens and townhome gardens are eligible if visible from the drive.
7) NO artificial flowers. No weeds. No dead plants, bushes, or trees.
😎 NO use or minimal use of ornaments, flags, and other decor that tend to detract from the flowers..
Although not a requirement, WIB encourages you to incorporate native plants, especially milkweed and flowers that attract pollinators
