CURB APPEAL SIGNS coming July 5-31. Plan now so your yard will capture the attention of the WIB judges.
- Plant your front yard with colorful flowers that bloom in July.
- Including black-eyed Susans, our city flower, always a plus.
- Not one color, not only yellow lilies or flowering hostas.
- Pocket gardens/townhouse gardens eligible when visible from the street.
- Good landscaping. Eye appealing. Not flowers skitter-scattered without a plan.
- No artificial flowers. No weeds. No dead trees or bushes.

WARRENVILLE CLIMATE ACTION PLAN , Wednesday, May 6, 7pm, at the Warrenville Library. The Warrenville Environmental Advisory Commission will present a status of this 10-year plan which includes an overview of the Warrenville Energy & Emissions Profile.
WIB supports the City's EAC events. This one will be very informative.
The plan, created in 2016, outlines steps for Warrenville to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, joining over 1,000 cities and 88 million people in that pledge.
For residents, top recommendations include home energy audits, behavioral changes (like using programmable thermostats), avoiding vehicle idling, reducing lawn chemical use, using alternative transportation, and planting native trees.
For commercial/government buildings, priorities include energy-efficiency upgrades (insulation, HVAC, lighting), alternative-fuel vehicles, reducing waste and water use, and designing sustainable landscapes.
