As we lead up to Thanksgiving and the end of our Giving Thanks Fundraiser drive, please see this quote from one of our teachers about why your support is so important for our students! “Our school mini-buses and vans make it possible for students to participate in a wide range of hands-on learning experiences beyond the classroom. I regularly use them to transport my physics students to sites such as Busch Gardens, where they collect real-time acceleration data on rides, and iFly, where they measure terminal velocity during indoor skydiving. Senior students travel to the Green Bank Observatory in West Virginia to conduct radio telescope observations of the Milky Way. These vehicles also support many other field experiences, including visits to local power plants, caves, and law enforcement facilities for applied demonstrations.” Mr. Burton, Physics/Research Instructor, Middletown Campus. Help support our students through the "Giving Thanks" Fundraiser Drive this month! https://docs.google.com/document/d/19noh8B-lUa04R6u5nGS6mKwalQ7Map8l/edit?fbclid=IwY2xjawOK3JVleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFqVUNwbmF6SVVCdzZhTXVDc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHsXvZmIyKN5GC7X-ZsCFWQifhqZkNqz9X43Q3o-9-fstBIekCPFwE7fo8f5D_aem_hc1OJF5glTp1DEGsiEa2lw

The MVGS Foundation "Giving Thanks" Drive runs through the end of November. The MVGS Foundation is instrumental in providing student assistance for our field trips and funding the maintenance and upkeep of MVGS buses and vans. The foundation provides DE tuition assistance for our students and contributes to other financial needs of the program. The Foundation goal is $10,000 for this drive. While it is a lofty goal, we believe it is achievable if we spread the word. Would you please share The Giving Thanks event with friends and families? With the help and participation of the MVGS family, we know we can meet our goal! The annual Mountain Vista Governor’s School Foundation Hall of Fame/Donor Dinner was held at Warren County High School on March 22, 2025. Donors were treated to a delightful meal catered by Devon Smith, the Culinary Instructor at Blue Ridge Tech. Several MVGS students eloquently explained their science fair projects, all of which had placed in competitions the week before. There was a silent auction and a live auction of student artwork to help raise money to assist the Foundation with its continued support of MVGS students and programs. The highlight of the evening was the recognition of two outstanding MVGS graduates who were inducted into the MVGS Foundation Hall of Fame.
