Memorial Day Ceremony Update
Warrenton, VA – Due to the forecasted inclement weather, and out of an abundance of concern for the safety of attendees, the Fauquier County Veterans Council has made the difficult decision to cancel the planned Memorial Day Ceremony scheduled for Monday.
While we are disappointed that we will not be able to gather outdoors for the traditional ceremony, the safety of our veterans, families, guests, and community members comes first.
In place of the ceremony, the American Legion Post 72, located in Warrenton, will host a Memorial Day Open House beginning at 12:00 PM. Community members are invited to come together in fellowship and remembrance of our service members, while enjoying classic American food and camaraderie in a welcoming indoor setting.
Memorial Day remains a solemn occasion to honor and remember the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our nation. We encourage everyone to take a moment during the day to reflect on their sacrifice and the freedoms they helped preserve.
“All gave some, some gave all.”
